A minor in education and child study consists of six semester courses: two required and four from an area of concentration.

Many students, in consultation with their adviser, design a minor program that is tailored to their goals and interests. Students can meet minor requirements and also meet the requirements for teacher licensure.
Student-Initiated Minor
A students may have a self-initiated minor with the approval of a faculty adviser and permission from the members of the department in the form of a majority vote.
