Research Interests:

In collaboration with colleagues in the department, I have been involved in several research studies concerned with teaching and learning, for example, mathematics story problems authored by students. For the past 30 years I have been involved in research about women and their moral dilemmas, women in business management and leadership, and currently women and money. This work began with the inception of the Smith Project on Women and Social Change in 1978 when I was one of the principal investigators.

Teaching Interests:

My courses revolve around special needs and learning disabilities. My background as a school psychologist contributes to my understanding of the special needs of children and families in relation to schools and communities. I also teach a course on Counseling Theory that comes out of my preparation and practice as a psychologist. I have had a small, part time private practice in Northampton for more than 30 years.

EDC 239 Counseling Theory and Education
EDC 248 Individuals with Disabilities
