Thomas Riddell is an Associate Professor of Economics. He majored in economics at Swarthmore and has his Ph.D. from the American University in Washington, D.C. He is the co-author of a one-semester introductory economics textbook in its 5th edition. His research and teaching interests include U.S. and global public policy, particularly the economics of military spending and the environmental dimensions of global economic activity. He is currently working on a new full-year introductory economics textbook and a research project on the conversion of the Northampton State Hospital. He is currently Dean of the First Year Class.
