Charles Johnson is a Lecturer in Economics at Smith College and a Visiting Lecturer in Economics at Mount Holyoke College.  He teaches the Financial Accounting Course (ACC223) at Smith.  He has a B.A. from Columbia College and a MBA from Columbia University.  His background includes a tour with Naval Intelligence; several finance positions with Corning, Inc.; and a 28 year career at Smith College as Controller, Associate Treasurer and Acting Treasurer.  He has been a director of several insurance companies and investment funds and is a director of a large regional bank.  He also holds professional designations as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU).
