Suk Massey


Suk Massey earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst School of Education. Her research areas were globalization and its effects on non-native English speaking teachers of English in Korea, second language acquisition, and English for specific purposes.
In addition, she has earned two master’s degrees: one in teaching English as a Second Language, the other in English Literature and a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature.
She has over twenty years’ experience of teaching language both in Korea and in the USA. In addition to her teaching, she has developed language proficiency tests for Korean bilingual teachers in the USA. Further, she has coordinated several intensive English study programs including ecumenical English training for Korean pastors and a summer English camp for students at Ewha Women’s University in Seoul, Korea. She most recently taught Korean at the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, California.
