Carol Kelly Years of service at Smith: 8 years Birthplace: Holyoke, MA Family: My husband, David, and my 3 daughters, Tamika, Jasmine & Tianna Pets: None at the moment, I went from 2 birds to 3 children Educational background: I graduated from Holyoke High School, and then went to St John’s School of Business to be a Legal Secretary. Food Service Background: Nothing formal. I learned a lot of good cooking from my mom, and then by asking questions of some of the best teachers I can think of, other talented folks in the Food Services business. Favorite meal to prepare for Smith students:I have prepared Soul Food dinners all over campus and truly enjoy seeing students smiling faces when they see, and then eat, my food. What is the best part of your job: Meeting different people everyday. What is the hardest part of your job: Meeting difficult people everyday. Funniest Smith memory: The time my boss had me breathing into a paper bag when several of us thought we were stuck on the elevator at the Campus Center. What 2 items do you always have in your refrigerator: Milk & eggs Hobbies: Spending time with my family is my favorite hobby. Favorite vacation destination: I took a wonderful vacation in Canada with my husband & children. The people are friendly and the country is beautiful. Favorite restaurant: Wong Wok Chinese Restaurant in Springfield. Musical interests: I like Rhythm & Blues and some Country.
