The goal of the Sponsored Research Office (SRO) is to assist Smith College faculty, staff, and students in the process of applying for outside funding and in the administration of their grants and awards. We work closely with other offices on campus to accomplish this, including the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations and the Controller's Office. All grant proposals submitted to external funding sources must first be reviewed and approved by the SRO. The SRO oversees NSF Fastlane and NIH eRA Commons user accounts and proposal submissions, and we coordinate and submit all Grants.gov applications.
John Davis, Associate Provost and Dean for Academic Development, also serves as the Director of Sponsored Research. He may be reached at 413-585-3000 in College Hall 206. Emily Robinson is the Sponsored Research Office Administrator and the primary contact for the Office. She may be reached at 413-585-3010 in College Hall 303.
