The Sabbatical/Leave
Without Pay Request Form with appended description of proposed leave project

Faculty. This form must be signed by the Chair and/or Director of the
Department/Program to indicate departmental approval of request and project before
it is returned to the Provost/Dean's Office. Authorization to individual (with
copy to Chair) will follow after appropriate review.
According to the Policy of Appointment, Reappointment,
Promotion, and Tenure at Smith College (IV.B.1.d.),
tenure-track faculty members requesting a one-semester sabbatical have the
option of counting the semester away as part of the probationary period for
the tenure review. |

labeled for outside evaluators. Candidates to provide one copy of dossier for
department.

and c) all other Lecturers whose appointment ends with the current academic
year (VI.A.3.a.1). If the department does not request the continuation of a
lecturer position, authorization for the position and the appointment of the
incumbent will lapse at the end of the incumbent's current appointment, except
that Senior Lecturers will be given a terminal year. (VI.A.3.a.2 and VI.B.3.a.2). |
