49.		(a)		A Chair of the department shall be elected by ballot by the duly qualified voting members.
(b)				The Chair shall ordinarily be selected from those holding permanent positions on the faculty.
(c)				The election of a Chair shall take place at least once in three years. The Chair shall be elected not later than February and take office after the spring recess or on July 1st, according to Department custom. Next
