(a)

The major standing committees shall be as follows:

• Academic Freedom Committee (elected) (Section 31)
• Committee on Educational Technology (elected) (Section 32)

• Administrative Board (Section 34)
• Advisory Committee on Resource Allocation (Section 35)
• Board of Admission (Section 36)
• Campus Planning Committee (Section 37)

(b)

Other standing committees on which faculty members may serve are listed in Appendix I.

(c)

Certain standing committees shall be elected by the faculty as hereinafter provided for (see section 47). All other members of standing committees, with the exception of student members of those committees, shall be appointed by the President or Provost (except as hereinafter provided) with the advice of the Faculty Council.

(d)

Members of the faculty elected or appointed to standing committees shall be so informed by mail.

(e)

All standing committees of the faculty shall report annually, and these reports in their written form shall be deposited with the Secretary of the Faculty. The Faculty Council and the Committees on Tenure and Promotion, Academic Priorities, and Faculty Compensation and Development, shall, when appropriate, report to the faculty at its monthly meeting.

(f)

Proposals for the formation of any new standing committees shall be referred to the Faculty Council before being presented for final action by the faculty.
