(a)

 

The major standing committees shall be as follows:

(b)

 

Other standing committees on which faculty members may serve are listed in Appendix I.

 

(c)

 

Certain standing committees shall be elected by the faculty as hereinafter provided for (see section 46). All other members of standing committees, with the exception of student members of those committees, shall be appointed by the President or Provost (except as hereinafter provided) with the advice of the Faculty Council.

 

(d)

 

Members of the faculty elected or appointed to standing committees shall be so informed by mail.

 

(e)

 

All standing committees of the faculty shall report annually, and these reports in their written form shall be deposited with the Secretary of the Faculty. The Faculty Council and the Committees on Tenure and Promotion, Academic Priorities, and Faculty Compensation and Development, shall, when appropriate, report to the faculty at its monthly meeting.

 

(f)

 

Proposals for the formation of any new standing committees shall be referred to the Faculty Council before being presented for final action by the faculty.
