Marilyn Sylla has taught at Mount Holyoke College since 1994 and also teaches at Amherst College and Greenfield Community College. She has performed and taught in Brazil, Haiti, West Africa (including Guinea, Senegal, the Gambia and the Casamance) and the United States.
Sylla and her husband, Sekou Sylla, who is the former principal dancer/acrobat with Les Ballets Africains, the National Dance Company of the Republic of Guinea, West Africa, direct the Bamidele Dancers & Drummers who presents workshops, concerts, residencies and arts and education lecture demonstrations.
