For those interested in learning more about the teachings of the 14th Dalai Lama, Buddhist philosophy, and Tibetan history and culture, many books are available. The following titles provide a list to initiate the learning process. Many of the books are required reading for Five College students who spend January studying at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, India, a program begun by Hampshire College and sustained through a collaboration with Smith College.
