Justina Gregory, Professor of Classical Languages and Literatures, received the A.B. from Smith College and the M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard University. She has been the recipient of Woodrow Wilson, Fulbright, and American Council of Learned Societies fellowships. She teaches Greek and Latin at all levels, as well as Classics in Translation courses such as "Rites of Passage" and "The Trojan War."

Her research interests are fifth-century Greek intellectual history and, especially, Greek tragedy. Her books include Euripides and the Instruction of the Athenians (1991) and Euripides, Hecuba: Introduction, Text, and Commentary (1999). She has edited the Blackwell Companion to Greek Tragedy (2005), and she is currently writing a book on ancient concepts of education.
