Dean Calvin McFadden

Calvin McFadden is the Dean of the Ada Comstock Scholars and the Sophomore Class.

Dean McFadden earned his B.A. in Sociology from Bethune-Cookman College, a M.Div. in Sociology of Religion from the Interdenominational Theological Center/Gammon Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University. He has served as Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences at a Massachusetts community college, as well as has served on the faculty at Springfield and American International Colleges, and Florida State and Florida A & M Universities. Dean McFadden also serves as Senior Pastor of the historic St. John’s Congregational Church in Springfield, in addition to the Springfield School Committee.

Dean McFadden is an avid traveler and enjoys singing, cooking, reading, and spending time with his family which include his college sweetheart, Jamina, and two children, Catherine and Jerome.

To meet with Dean McFadden you may stop by during his Walk-In Hours on Mondays from 3:00pm - 4:00pm, Wednesdays from 2:30 - 4:00pm and on Fridays from 10:00am - 11:30am or contact his assistant at ext. 4930 to schedule an appointment during regular office hours, 8:30am - 4:30pm M, T, Th, F and 10:00am - 4:30pm on W.
