  Student Welfare Fund Committee
 

The main duty of the Student Welfare Committee is to problem solve and attend to the welfare of students of CIHTS. This committee consists of 9 members and elects its office bearers from the five sampradayas: two members each from Nyingma, Kargyud, Sakya, Gelug and one member from Bon Sampradaya. The tenure of the office bearers are for one year.

The positions held by the 9 elected members are as follows:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • General Secretary
  • Assistant Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Assistant Treasurer
  • Medical Incharge
  • Sports Incharge
  • Typing Incharge

Some of the major duties of the SWFC are as follows:

  1. Organising camps, group discussions, lectures, and seminars
  2. Looking after ill students
  3. Organising tournaments for various games and sports
  4. Organising typing classes and basic computer courses
  5. Raising of funds
  Mess Management Committee
 

The Mess Management Committee manages the common mess for males and females. The Mess Management Committee consists of a manager, two permanent cooks and four supporting cooks.

The Mess Management Committee elects its office bearers from five sampradaya: two members each from Nyingma, Kargyud, Sakya, Gelug, and one member from Bon sampradaya and one female representative. Apart from mess duties, the committee is responsible for disciplining the students.

The positions held in the Mess Management Committee are as follows

  • Treasurer
  • Assistant Treasurer
  • General Secretary
  • Assistant Secretary
  • Member

The tenure for the office bearers is for one year

There are 5 Sampradaya Student Organisations at CIHTS. They are as follows:

  1. Yungdrung Bon Teachers & Students' Committee
  2. Nyingma Students' Welfare Committee
  3. Kargyud Relief and Protection Committee
  4. Sakya Students' Union
  5. Gelugpa Student Welfare Committee

The Sampradaya Committees are founded for the welfare of students who belong to the concerned sampradaya.

The designation of the office bearers of the above sampradaya are as follows:

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Assistant Treasurer
  • General Secretary
  • Assistant Secretary

The president is elected from amongst the teachers and the remaining members are elected from amongst the students of the concerned sampradaya. The tenure of the office bearers are for one year.

The major duties undertaken by the above committees are:

  1. Looking after sick and poor students
  2. The publication and distribution of texts amongst the students
  3. The organisation of congregational prayer
  4. The raising of funds for the above purposes.
