One
can become member of the library under the
following categories:
REGULAR
MEMBER
To
become a regular member, one must be one
of the following:
- A
member of any of the statutory body of
CIHTS as may be constituted by the Board
of Governors;

A member of regular CIHTS staff;
- A
student of CIHTS.
One
enrolls as a regular member by application
on the prescribed form, which shall duly
be:
- Approved
by the Director on the recommendation
of the Registrar in case of members of
any of the statutory body of the institute
as may be constituted by the Board of
Governors;
- Approved
by the Director on the recommendation
of the Department head in case of members
of regular CIHTS staff;
- Approved
by the Director on the recommendation
of the respective teacher in-charge of
the Sampradaya, in case of members that
are CIHTS students.
NON-REGULAR
MEMBER
Guest
Member
Scholar(s) or visitor(s) as special guests,
on invitation by the institute, or by permission,
residing in the institute guest house and/or
on the campus can be enrolled as a guest
member by filling out the prescribed form
which is then recommended by the Registrar
and approved by the Director of CIHTS.
Request Member
Scholar(s) from other institutions doing
research work in subjects in which this
library specializes can also enroll as request
members by filling out the prescribed form
and with a recommendation from the head
of the department/institution to which the
scholar belongs. This application is then
further to be recommended by either:

The Registrar of CIHTS, or
-
Any regular CIHTS staff, not below the
rank of Lecturer or equivalent, to be
approved by the Director of CIHTS.
Such
members shall be required to deposit a security
amount of Rs. 500.00.
Casual (Short
term) Member
Any scholar desirous of using the resources
of the library may also be allowed to enroll
as a casual member for a period not exceeding
six months by filling out the prescribed
form and with a recommendation by a responsible
regular CIHTS staff not below the rank of
Class III to be approved by the Director
of CIHTS. Such member shall be required
to deposit a security amount of Rs. 500.00.
MEMBERSHIP FEE
Aside
from a security deposit, membership is free.
MEMBERSHIP
DURATION AND RENEWAL
Members are required to renew their membership
at the start of each session. The duration
of membership for the various forms of membership
are as follows:
-
For Regular Members who are members of
any of the statutory body of CIHTS as
constituted by the Board of Governors
- the duration of membership is for the
tenure of the respective statutory bodies
of CIHTS.
- For
Regular Members who are members of regular
CIHTS staff, duration of membership is
for the duration of their regular service
to CIHTS.
- For
Regular Members who are CIHTS students,
membership must be renewed every session.
- For
Guest Members and Casual/Short Term Members,
membership must be renewed on the expiry
of their membership or every third month
which ever is earlier.
All
tickets (i.e. not membership) must be renewed
every semester/session and/ or on the expiry
of the membership, whichever is earlier.
"NO
DUES" CERTIFICATE
- Every
member shall be required to obtain a certificate
certifying that they have no dues pending
to the library before he/she finally leaves
the Institute.
- Regular
Members who are CIHTS students shall be
required to obtain a "No Dues"
certificate from the library at the end
of each session or just before the autumn
vacation or when the student finally leaves
the Institute.
- Non-Regular
Members shall be required to obtain "No
Dues" certificate from the library
when he/she finally leaves the Institute
or is expected to be away from the Institute
for more than a month or at the time of
claiming the refund of his/her security
money.
