Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Jonathan Hirsh went to Midwood High School. He graduated from Amherst College in 1986 and received his Masters and Doctorate in Conducting from the University of Michigan. |

| He has taught at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., at Amherst College,the University of Michigan, the University of California at Santa Cruz, and at Tufts University. At Smith, he conducts the Orchestra, the Glee Club, and the Chamber Singers. Jonathan thinks that Smith College is a great place to work because the caliber of the students and faculty is extraordinary. For the same reason, he believes that Smith is a great place to go to college. ![]() | Grant Moss, Accompanist Grant Russell Moss is a Senior Lecturer in Music at Smith, where he has served as Organist to the College since 1983. A Nebraska native, Grant is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he was an organ student of George Ritchie. |
| He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Yale University, where his principal teachers were Charles Krigbaum and Michael Schneider. He has performed on piano and organ on several European tours, both as a soloist and as accompanist for the Smith College Chamber Singers. He has given solo recitals at the summer organ festivals at Methuen (MA) and Round Lake (NY), the Great Organ Music at Yale series, and most recently at the national convention of the Organ Historical Society, based this summer in Saratoga Springs, NY. He has performed as soloist with the Springfield Symphony, the Five College Orchestra, the UMass-Amherst Orchestra, the Valley Festival Orchestra, the Amherst College Orchestra and the Pioneer Valley Symphony. |
