WELCOME!

Welcome to the website of the Committee on Educational Technology at Smith College.

CET is charged with evaluating the current uses of educational technologies at Smith and formulating long-term plans for its future development and support. If you are interested in our discussions, the minutes of the Committee are available by following the link to Minutes. If you need to contact one of your CET representatives, follow the link to our 2008-2009 Membership. We welcome your views and input concerning the use of technology to improve teaching and learning.

In 2004-05 the committee examined the reliability of services provided by Information Technology Services (ITS) at Smith College. You can click on this link to Reliability to read our articulation of the standards of reliability that the Smith College community should expect of Smith’s ITS as well as our interpretation of two surveys we conducted of information technology services at other liberal arts colleges.

One of CET's responsibilities is to review applications for funding for Curricular Initiatives in Educational Technology. The application process should be completed online by following the link to our Technology Request Form. Before completing your application, please review the Funding Examples.

CET also works with the staff of ITS to develop resources and workshops supportive of faculty innovation regarding the integration of technology into teaching and research. Please contact your CET members if you have ideas or suggestions about how we could more effectively support faculty development around issues of technology use.
