Don’t panic—Suit Yourself! Through our popular “Suit
Yourself” program, Smith students may borrow jackets, skirts,
and pants, sizes 2-24, in matching black fabric. To borrow a suit,
come to the CDO during suit program hours and a CDO student assistant
will help you select what you need to look your professional best.
Be sure to bring your One Card and if you like, the shoes and top
you’ll be wearing. All we ask is that you return the suit
professionally dry cleaned (with the receipt, please), in the same
condition in which you borrowed it, by the date listed on a contract
we’ll ask you to sign. If you have questions about what is
appropriate attire for a particular kind of interview, we can also
help with that.
“I really didn’t
know how I was going to get a suit. After
spending over $1000 on medical school applications, I couldn’t
afford to buy one. Smith came to the rescue. I was the best dressed
at all of my interviews.”
~ Fallon Mattis ’04, a regular “Suit Yourself” borrower

One
word of advice:
Please don’t wait until
the last minute to borrow a suit. Come in a few days before your
interview during
suit program hours.
To go along with your great look, CDO counselors
are available by appointment for practice interviews. Call x2582
to set up a
time, and be sure to read our booklet, “Interviews.” When
you return your suit, please tell us how your interview went.
Good luck!
