This Week’s Top Career Tip
Human resources professionals visiting the CDO for Mock Interview Day this week offer advice to Smith students:

  • Share your passions and interests during an interview and how these meld with the organization’s mission.
  • Show energy, curiosity, and “spark” – these qualities appeal to employers even when a candidate has little or no relevant experience.
  • “Clean up your Facebook profile – we’ll be checking it!”
  • Including service industry experience on your resume demonstrates work ethic and other transferrable skills.
  • Small grammar and punctuation errors on your resume and cover letter add up to lack of attention to detail. “If you can’t get that right, how can you get the work right at my organization?”

CDO advisors are happy to help you practice your interview skills.  Call x2582 to set up a one-hour time.
