Step 1 – Registration
a. Register with your career office
Northwestern University – Career Cat
Smith College – E-Access
University of North Carolina – UCS registration system
University of Virginia – CAVLink
b. If already registered, update your student profile
c. Have your resume/cover letter reviewed
Step 2 – Research Employers
a. Check the list of participating employers and positions at the NYRA web site www.smith.edu/cdo/nyra/
b. Research employers and positions. Use Vault/Wetfeet, your career office library,
company website(s), alumni networking data base
Step 3 – Apply
a. Once logged into your respective schools account, click on the “NYRA” jump to feature.
b. Submit a resume and /or (cover letter, writing sample, unofficial transcript) for each position you are interested in. The employer will specify what
documents they want.
c. Submit your materials by January 15th (11:59 p.m.)
Step 4 – Sign up for interview(s)
If chosen to interview (Pre-selected), you will be notified by e-mail on Tuesday,
January 26th
- Once notified of an interview(s) you will choose your interview time within the system.
- You will need to accept your interview(s) by Monday, February 1st (11:59p.m.)
- If chosen as an Alternate(s) and if there is space available, you will be able to sign up for an interview starting Tuesday, February 2nd (12:00 a.m.).
- Alternates will have until Tuesday, February 2nd (11;59 p.m.) to accept your interview(s).
Step 5 – Confirmation
- Sign the required confirmation form with your career office. This is a contract stating you will attend your interview(s) in New York on Monday, February 22, 2010.
Step 6 - Attend an information session
If applicable attend an information session at your career services office. Contact your respective career services office for times and dates.
