Engineering Education Partnership
With support from the GE Foundation Math Excellence Initiative, Smith's Picker Engineering Program teamed up with the Department of Education and Child Study to create the Engineering Education Partnership (EEP). The partnership brings together faculty in engineering and faculty in education to develop strategies for improving science and engineering pedagogy. Another goal of EEP is to bring more underrepresented groups into engineering, mathematics, science and technology by increasing exposure to these fields in the K-16 curriculum. The program also supports engineering education reform at the college and university levels. EEP's varied efforts include courses for SSEP, professional development workshops in engineering design offered through the Summer Institutes for Educators, and the refinement the core courses in the engineering major at Smith.
