Award Description

This award recognizes an individual for their demonstrated commitment to issues of social justice in the Smith College and greater community.

Consideration for recognition is based on the following criteria:

• Participation in educational or activist programs and/or events on campus or in the community.
• Willingness to challenge systems of injustice.
• Commitment to ongoing education on the topic of social justice through participation in available educational opportunities.
• Possesses a broad definition of diversity and social justice.
• Commitment to making Smith College and/or the broader community a welcoming and positive environment for all.
• Must have at least one letter of support from a faculty or staff member and/or a peer that speaks to the student's commitment to social justice. Please submit this letter via email to ccevents@smith.edu.
