Award Description

This award recognizes an outstanding student House President who has demonstrated excellence in their contribution to the Smith community through leadership within a house community.

Consideration for recognition is based on the following criteria:

• Is a full time student in good academic standing at the time of application.
• Has a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
• Holds the position of House President.
• Has made a significant contribution to their house community through program development and activities in collaboration with the members of their house.
• Has demonstrated leadership skills and ability.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively.
• Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with the house community and staff.
• Has a willingness to go beyond the call of duty.
• Has a positive attitude towards Smith College.
• Must have a letter of support from a faculty or staff member who can speak to their work in the house. Please submit this letter via email to ccevents@smith.edu.

Please provide information about the House President you have nominated regarding their leadership skills and abilities, accomplishments as a leader within the house, leadership training and activities participated in, and the reasons why they should be recognized as the Outstanding House President.

Please submit a letter of support from a faculty or staff member who can speak to their work in the house. This letter should specify the nominee's role in the house, responsibilities, skills and abilities, trainings and accomplishments. It should be sent directly to ccevents@smith.edu as a word attachment.
