LEAP program logo

Program Objective

The LEAP Program defines the student leadership experience at Smith for all leaders regardless of class year or skill level.  Recognizing that Smith affords countless opportunities for leadership development for those who seek them out, this program highlights opportunities for involvement as well as the natural intersections that bring our student leaders together outside of the classroom for learning, growth and personal development.  This program will challenge students to connect their academic learning with the learning they do outside of the classroom.

Campus Center Mission

The Campus Center is the crossroads of community at Smith, providing a wide range of quality services, programs, and conveniences which compliment the academic mission of the College.  Through its activities, facilities, and services the campus center serves as a learning laboratory providing and promoting personal growth, leadership development, co-curricular involvement, intellectual inquiry, global stewardship, social responsibility and the valuing of difference in all forms.

Values That Guide Our Work

The Campus Center and Office of Student Activities provides a safe and inclusive learning environment for personal growth.  Together with our learning outcomes, these core values are integral to our success as the crossroads of Smith’s community life.

Diverse and Just Society

The Campus Center and Office of Student Activities embraces diversity in all its forms including one’s identification of ethnicity, race, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion, and socio-economic status as well as every aspect of our life which defines our humanity.  Our commitment to diversity and a just society refers to the intentional and consistent valuing, respecting and inclusion of all people and creating an environment where this is possible.

Quality Service & Support

The Campus Center and Office of Student Activities provides an experience that exemplifies a consistent commitment to quality by meeting and wherever possible exceeding community expectations in our programs, facilities and services.  Consistent quality customer service is the cornerstone of this.  The Campus Center staff, through programs and facilities, embraces the opportunity to partner with our community for the successful completion of their goals and initiatives.
