Over the past 29 seasons Smith's volleyball program has earned a reputation as one of the top programs in New England. The Pioneers have made three appearances in the NCAA Division III National Championship and have gone on to post-season play 18 out of 29 years. In the past ten years, Smith has ranked consistently in the top12 teams in the NCAA New England region. In 1997, the Pioneers won the ECAC post-season championship and in 2005 were the NEWMAC champions..

Volleyball Falls to Springfield in NEWMAC Quarterfinals
The Pioneers fell to local rival Springfield 0-3 tonight in quarterfinal action of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Volleyball championship. With the loss, the Pioneers end the season 7-19 while the Pride improved to 27-6 and advanced to the semifinals.

Volleyball Falls at Wellesley
In their last match of the regular season, the Pioneers fell to Wellesley in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) competition in three straight sets, 20-25, 12-25 and 19-25. With the loss, Smith fell to 7-18 overall and 3-6 in the NEWMAC while the Blue improved to 20-9 overall and 7-2 conference play.

Pioneers Shine on Senior Night
The Smith College Pioneers (7-17, 3-5 in NEWMAC) battled hard against their rival, Mount Holyoke College (4-21, 0-8 in NEWMAC). The Pioneers made quick work of the Lyons, as they defeated them in 3 straight sets.

Volleyball Competes in Hall of Fame Invitational
Junior outside hitter, Laurel Belton (San Bernadino, CA) was named to the All Tournament team of the 2009 Volleyball Hall of Fame Invitational this weekend. The Pioneers hosted the gold bracket of the sixteen team Invitational and finished in 8th place.

Tufts Defeats Williams For Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament Title
The Jumbos of Tufts University swept Williams College today in three straight sets to take the 2009 Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament title (25-20, 25-21, 25-19).

Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament Results: Day One
Smith College once again served as one of the host sites for the annual Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament. Smith, the Gold Bracket, hosted Tufts University, Williams College, Springfield College, MIT, Brandeis University, Amherst College, Wellesley College and Smith.

Volleyball Upsets 8th Ranked Plymouth State, Falls to Keene State
The Pioneers traveled to Mount Holyoke College today to take on Little East opponents Plymouth State College and Keene State College. Smith played a fantastic match against Plymouth State and upset the New England Women's Volleyball Association's (NEWVA) 8th ranked team in five sets.

Volleyball Drops NEWMAC Match at Coast Guard
Smith traveled to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Coast Guard last night and fell 3-0. The Pioneers slid to 5-12 on the season and 2-4 in the NEWMAC while the Bears improved to 16-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
