2010 Outlook
Smith softball turned in many strong performances during the 2009 season. Senior outfielder/pitcher Erin Quinn led the team at the plate and finished the season with a .341 batting average with nine RBI's. In the circle, senior Emily Hiltzik threw the majority of the innings (164.1), had an ERA of 4.73, struck out 102 and walked only 28 batters. Junior third baseman Megan Kiefer finished the season earning NEWMAC All Conference Second team honors with a .324 batting average that included six doubles, two triples, nine RBI's and was 14-17 in stolen bases.
With the graduation of four seniors, Smith will look to fill the vacancies with the members of the class of 2013 but retains great experience and talent in returning players Kirstie Beaton, Kate Durkin, Sarah Goodman, Megan Kiefer, co-captain Lauren Martinez, Salma Mehter, co-captain Laura Robitzek and Sally Stulberg.
