Tennis Falls to MIT 6-3

Northampton, MA: The Pioneers lost this afternoon to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival MIT 6-3 in Cambridge. Smith captured wins at number three doubles and singles slots five and six.

Coming off three significant conference wins in a row, Smith was handed a hard blow in today's lost to the Engineers. The Pioneers were playing without their number 1 and 2 players, including first year Holly Reich (Roslyn Heights, NY) who had outstanding performances and wins last week against Springfield and Wheaton.

#2   Clair Oblamski/Alanna Dick lost to Alex Hall/Anisa McCree, 6-8
#3   Allyson Hawkins/Margaret Steiner defeated Jenny Dohlman/Kerry Weinberg, 8-3

Smith will be in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 13 as they host NEWMAC rival Clark at 4pm.
