Volleyball Falls 3-1 at Eastern Connecticut

Northampton, MA: In non-conference action last night, the Pioneers fell to Eastern Connecticut State University 3-1. With the loss, Smith fell to 12-18 overall while the Warriors improved to 18-11.

The Pioneers lost the first set 25-14, won the second 25-23 and then dropped the next two 25-17 and 25-14.  Junior outside hitter Mikal Minarich (Hobart, IN) had a team high 8 kills; setters Lauren Martinez (Phoenix, AZ) and Courtney Faria (Bourne, MA) combined for 26 assissts while defensive specialist Brianne Connizzo (Demarest, NJ) tallied 13 digs in the loss.

The Pioneers host Wellesley College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in their last regular season contest.
