Volleyball Competes at Brandeis Invitational
Waltham, MA: The Pioneers competed in the Brandeis Invitational over the weekend with junior Brianne Connizzo (Demarest, NJ) bringing home All Tournament Team honors.
During the tournament, the team faced Brandeis, Williams, Tufts and Trinity and lost each match by identical 3-0 scores. Junior Bethany Weiss (Windham, NH) tallied 15 kills while Laurel Belton (San Bernadino, CA) added 12 and Mikal Minarich (Hobart, IN) and Jacqueline Sparagna (Los Angeles, CA) contributed with 11 each. Sophomore Lauren Martinez (Phoeniz, AZ) and Minarich combined for 58 assists while Brianne Connizzo had a team high 39 digs. Senior Courtney Parker (Berlin, MD) registered 5 total blocks while Minarich and Weiss added four each.
The Pioneers open New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) competition on Tuesday night when they travel to Babson College for a 7 pm contest.
