Grover-Silva Earns All American Honors

Northampton, MA: Etta Grover-Silva (Arcata, CA) earned All American honors today with her 8th place finish in the pole vault (12'2.5" - 3.72m) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. The event was won by Rachel Secrest of North Central College with a height of 13'2.25" -4.02m.

All American honors capped off an outstanding outdoor season for the junior athlete. She claimed first in the pole vault at the Mount Holyoke Invitational (3.51m) and the Bowdoin Aloha Relays where she set a new meet and facility record with a vault of 3.55m. She took second at the New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship (3.66m) and at the New England III Championships (3.70m).  Etta finished 10th at the Open (Division I, II, III) New England Championships (3.35m) and qualified for Nationals during the ECAC Championship where she placed 3rd with a height of 3.75m. In her four appearances at Nationals, she has made All American each trip.
