Grover-Silva Sets New Smith Mark, Qualifies for Nationals

Northampton, MA: Junior Etta Grover-Silva (Arcata, CA) automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships and set a new Smith record in the pole vault with her second place leap of 3.81m at the Open New England Championships held at Tufts University.

Other Smith athletes who qualified for Open New Englands included Uzuri Sims (San Diego, CA) who ran a personal best in the 400m and finished in 28th place (1:00.90) and the 4x400m relay team comprised of Sims, Alina Ainyette (South Orange, NJ), Anna Leversee (Keene, NH) and Alice Kaufman (Medford, MA) who placed 19th overall in their best time of the season (4:17.25).
