Smith has Strong Showing at Indoor Track & Field Division III New England Championship

Northampton, MA: Etta Grover-Silva '10 (Arcata, CA) finished first in the pole-vault at the Division III New England Championships this afternoon at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME. With a jump of 12'1.5'' Grover-Silva set a meet record by 10 centimeters.

Uzuri Sims '11 (San Diego, CA), Angela Cote '12 (Gardiner, MT), Kaitlin Eison-Washington '12 (Portland, OR), and Alina Ainyette '09 (South Orange, NJ) qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:50.02 earning them a fifth place finish.

The 4x400 meter relay team--Kristin Peck '12 (Bethlehem, NY), Alice Kaufman '12 (Medford, MA), Anna Leversee '12 (Keene, NH), and Sims--ran a season best with a time of 4:19.96.

Peck ran a personal best 3:04 in the 1000 meter race finishing seventh overall.

Track & Field will next compete at the Open New England Championships in Boston, MA on Saturday, February 28 at 10 am.
