Smith Tennis Defeats Springfield
Northampton, MA: The Pioneers defeated New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Springfield College 7-2 this afternoon. With the win Smith improved its overall and conference record to 1-4. The Pride of Springfield fell to 2-5 (1-4).
For Smith Gianna Teague (Gahanna, OH) and Jaimi Inskeep (Warrenville, IL) won at number two doubles as did number three doubles Nawal Mays (Niskayuna, NY) and Mindy Chu (Los Altos, CA). In singles, Inskeep, Chu, Melissa Wong (Portsmouth, OH), Ally Hawkins (Plainfield, NH), and Maggie Steiner (Madison, CT) all recorded victories.
The Pioneers return to action October 11th as they host NEWMAC opponent MIT for a 1 pm start.
