Smith Tennis Falls to Babson 1-8

Northampton, MA: The Smith College tennis squad fell to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent, Babson, 1-8 this afternoon in Boston, MA. With the loss the Pioneers move to 0-2 on the season.

Melissa Wong '12 (Portsmouth, OH) had a win for the Pioneers at number six singles over Liz Sheerin of Babson 2-0 (7-5, 6-2). Nicole Anderson '11 (Sherborn, MA) and Margaret Steiner '11 (Madison, CT) pulled out the 8-6 win for Smith in an exhibition match against Babson.  

Smith tennis is back in action September 26-29 in the Omni ITA Tournament at MIT.
