Smith Finishes Fifth at Seven Sisters Championship
Northampton, MA: The Pioneers fell to both Mount Holyoke (2-3) and Bryn Mawr (2-3) today in close matches to take fifth at the 2009 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship held at Vassar College.
The Pioneers Margaret Steiner (Madison, CT) won her singles match 6-3,6-4 against Mount Holyoke while the doubles combination of Allyson Hawkins (Plainfield, NH) and Mindy Chu (Los Altos, CA) picked up the other victory. The doubles teams of Jaimi Inskeep (Warrenville, IL) and Gianna Teague (Gahanna, OH) at number one and Hawkins and Chu at #2 prevailed against Bryn Mawr. The team will host Union College on Saturday at 9:30 am and Roger Williams at 2:30 pm.
