Swimming & Diving Defeats Elms 139-107

Northampton, MA: Sophomores Lily Seidman (Westfield, IN) and Reyna Levine (Kalamazoo, MI) each won two events last night to help the Pioneers defeat Elms College 139-107.

Seidman won the 100 back (1:12.55) and 200 breaststroke (3:07.02) while Levine finished first in the 200IM (2:47.77) and 400 freestyle (5:17.58).  The 200 medley relay team comprised of Alex Page (Brookline, MA), Lenora Walter (Santa Ynez, CA), Faith Latella (Douglastown, NY) and Hannah Bromfield (Brookline, MA) placed first in 2:20.57. Other first place performances were given by Rachel Dorset  (Stratford, CT) in the 200 backstroke (2:52.45); Walter in the 100 breaststroke (1:26.23); Rebecca Rosen (Harrington Park, NJ) in the 100 butterfly (1:21.48) and Bromfield in the 50 free (31.47).  Second place finishers for Smith included Francesca Kotey (Gainesville, FL) in the 200 IM (3:07.42); Cordelia McGeHee (Roseville, MN) in both the 200 freestyle (2:28.74) and 400 free (5:18.67); Christine Dzialo (Belchertown, MA) in the 100 back (1:18.43); Page in both the 100 breaststroke (1:32.57) and 100 freestyle (1:10.30); Rosen in the 200 back (2:59.85), and Jenny Prince (Ardsley, NY) in the 200 breaststroke (3:21.02). Joanna Goldfarb (Montpelier, VT) swam personal best times in the100 free (1:31.90) and 100 breaststroke (1:53.59) as she shed eight and four seconds respectively off her previous times in those events.

The Pioneers compete again on Saturday, Nov. 22 when they host Westfield State College at 1 pm in Dorothy Dalton Pool.
