Smith Swimming and Diving Finishes Third at Seven Sisters Championship
Northampton, MA: The Seven Sisters Swimming and Diving Championship concluded at Vassar College today with Wellesley College capturing the title with 1069.5 points. The Pioneers finished in third place behind Vassar with a total of 665 points.
Lily Seidman (Westfield, IN) put together another strong performance for the Pioneers, taking home first place in the 200 yard butterfly (2:18.40) and second place in the 100 yard free (57.20). Teammate Lenora Walter (Santa Ynez, CA) took home second place in the 200 yard back with a time of 2:18.14. Additionally, finishing fourth in their respective events were Christine Dzialo (Belchertown, MA) in the 100 yard freestyle (57.58) and Reyna Levine (Kalamazoo, MI) in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:43.35). The Pioneers also took home fifth place in the 400 yard free as Francesca Kotey (Gainesville, FL), Alex Page (Brookline, MA), Walter, and Dzialo put up a time of 4:00.87.
In the 3-meter diving event, Alexis Roerich (Eau Claire, WI) took home second place with a score of 379.10 while Amanda Lineweber (Suffield, CT) finished fifth with a score of a 77.50.
The Pioneers return to the pool January 31st for their final home meet against Husson featuring a 1 pm start.
