Squash Competes At Wesleyan Invitational

Northampton, MA: Smith started the day with a tough 8-1 loss to Division I Ivy League opponent Columbia followd by a 9-0 loss to a strong Middlebury squad. In their third and final match of the two-day event, the Pioneers fell to the host 8-1.

In the Wesleyan match, Smith's number one, Shanita Williams (Boston, MA) took advantage of the fact that Wesleyan rested thier usual number one to beat replacement Gwynn Hunter, 3-0.  The first two games were very close with Williams using her speed and athleticism to attack Hunter's short balls with accurate drops to the front of the court, finish10-8,9-7,9-2.
