Squash Finishes Third in Seven Sisters

Northampton, MA: The fourth seeded Pioneers suffered 9-0 loss to #1 Mount Holyoke College this morning, but fought hard against #3 Wellesley for the upset and third place championship finish.

In the first semifinal match of the day, Mount Holyoke cruised to their seventh straight win over Smith with the tightest match at the seven slot with Kasia Kolodziejczak (MHC) def. Elizabeth Guyman (SMI) 9-1, 9-3, 9-2.

In the third place match, Smith dominated Wellesley. The three, four and six slots were won in straight matches. Winning their matches 3-0 for Smith were Meg Oliverio (Boston, MA) who defeated Cabella Ahn 3-0, Anna Reznickova (Kromeriz, Czech Republic) defeated Dora Hui and Jasmine Wallas (Nassau, Bahamas) defeated Carrie Ng. Also earning a win for Smith was Jess MacLeod (Huntington, NY), winning the tightest match, 3-2, against Wellesley's Ashley Stevens.

The Pioneers return to action Friday thru Sunday, Feb. 13-15th at the Howe Cup at a time to be determined.
