Squash Defeats Boston College
Northampton, MA: The Smith squash team won its' first match of the season as they defeated Boston College 9-0 at the Mount Holyoke/Smith Invitational.
With only five players Boston College was forced to default at the six through nine postitions; however, taking the top five positions 5-0, the Pioneers did not allow Boston College's lack of numbers to hold them back.
Meg Oliverio '11 (Boston, MA) won the tightest match, 3-2, against Boston College's Rosie Quick. Alice Reznickova '10 (Kromeriz, Czech Republic) defeated Julia Nary 3-0 in a well fought match by both players. Also earning wins for Smith were Shanita Williams '10 (Boston, MA), Jess MacLeod '09 (Huntington, NY), and Jasmine Wallas '11 (Nassau, Bahamas).
The Pioneers will be back in action Sunday as they take on Colby College at 12:30 pm and Wesleyan at 2 pm.
