Soccer Falls at Babson

Babson Park, MA: The Pioneers fell to Babson College 4-0 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action this afternoon in Babson Park. With the victory, the Beavers improved to 6-3-3 (1-0-1 NEWMAC)while Smith fell to 1-9 and 0-2 in conference play.

Sophomore forward Patty Pytlik (Wellesley, MA) led Babson with two goals, one just 2:27 into the game, the other at the 58:52 mark and both were assisted by senior midfielder Jackie Graham (Winchester, MA).  Graham scored the fourth goal for Babson on a penalty kick at 65:25 while Lauren Clement (Pittsfield, MA) tallied the Beaver's second goal with an assist from Annie Kenney (Weston, MA).  Sarah Macary (Woodbury, CT) and Sam Scarpato (Weston, MA) split time in goal for Babson with Macary making one save.

The Pioneers offense was stymied all day and were held to just one shot by Bryce Bludevich (Colchester, VT).  Sophomore keeper Elizabeth Isenstein (Deerfield, MA) faced twelve shots and made 8 saves in the loss for Smith.

Both teams will face NEWMAC opponents on Tuesday, October 7th when Babson travels to MIT and Smith hosts Mount Holyoke.
