Keene State Defeats Smith Lacrosse, 17-7
Northampton, MA: The Owls of Keene State College scored 9 first half goals en route to their 17-7 defeat of Smith College this evening. With the victory, Keene State improved to 7-7 overall while Smith dropped to 3-8 overall.
The first half of play belonged to the Owls as they outscored Smith 9-2. First year Caitlyn Corace (Mahopac, NY) and sophomores Lauren Sawyer (Westbrook, ME) and Jenny Lillis (West Islip, NY) each led Keene State with a game high three goals while sophomore midfielders Emily Persano (Somers, CT) and Jamie Albert (Southington, CT) each added two.
The Pioneers came out strong in the second half but were only able to score five more shots. Smith was led by senior co-captain Blair Repalyea (Prides Crossing, MA) who tallied a game high 3 goals and an assist. Smith keeper Chelsea Henderson (White Plains, NY) had ten saves.
