Smith Equestrians Finish As Reserve High Point College at Mount Holyoke Show
Northampton, MA: The Smith equestrian team finished as Reserve High Point College today at the Mount Holyoke IHSA Show just three points behind their host. The Lyons won the show with 36 points followed by the Pioneers with 33, Becker 31 and UMass with 17.5 out of a dozen schools.
The Pioneers had an outstanding day as 16 out of 20 riders finished among the top 4 in their classes. Sophomore Morgan Brescia (Seekonk, MA) brought home a blue ribbon in intermediate flat while red ribbons were won by Sarah Maxner (Norwich, VT) in novice over fences, Nicole Haseltine (Los Angeles, CA) in open flat, Rebecca Nelson (Milton, MA) in walk, trot, Abigail Milnor-Sweetser (Lancaster, PA) in novice flat and Anya Bahros (Norwell, MA) in novice flat.
Esme Rabin (Tiburon, CA), Susanna Haas (Acworth, NH), Laura Schneider (Roscoe, MT) and alumnae Liz Jacobson all won yellow ribbons in intermediate fences, novice flat, walk/trot and alumnae flat respectively.
Haseltine, Ryan Fogarty (Greenwich, CT) and Abigail Cooper (Chalfont, PA) each won white ribbons in open over fences. White ribbons were also taken by Christine Stine (East Dover, VT) in intermediate over fences, Grace Livingston (Cleveland, OH) in novice flat and Jacobson in alumnae over fences.
