Smith Cross Country Finishes 12th at Regionals; Youngs Qualifies for Nationals

Northampton, MA: The Smith Pioneers cross country team finished 12th out of 57 teams in the NCAA Regional Meet held at Williams College. Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH) finished 8th overall with a time of 23:06.5 to qualify for Nationals.

Additional runners for Smith included Christine Dzialo (Belchertown, MA), who finished 53rd overall (24:33.9), Hania Thomas-Adams (Deerfield, MA) who finished 84th (25:01.9), Emma Yourd (Pittsburgh, PA) who finished 93rd (25:17.7), and Kristin Peck (Bethlehem, NY) who finished 114th with a time of 24:42.5.

While the Pioneers finished 12th overall, among the NEWMAC teams competing they finished 2nd.

The NCAA Division III Championship will be held November 22nd in Hanover, IN.
