Cross Country Finishes 33rd at Open New Englands
Northampton, MA: The Pioneers competed today at the Open New England Cross-Country Championships (Divisions I, II & III) and finished in 33rd place, with 921 points, out of 45 schools. Boston College won the event with 38 points.
Senior Nora Youngs (Penacook, NH) was the first Smith runner to cross the finish line in 74th place (19:08). Other scorers for the Pioneers included Kristin Peck (Bethlehem, NY) in 161 st place (20:07), Hania Thomas-Adams (Deerfield, MA) in 200th place (20:33); Emma Yourd (Pittsburgh, PA) in 234th place (21:10) and Kathleen Given (Scarborough, ME) in 252nd place in 21:38.
The Pioneers will compete again on Saturday, October 18th when they host the Seven Sisters Championship at 11 a.m.
