Pioneers Compete in Wesleyan Invitational

Middletown, CT:  In today’s non-scoring invitational held at Wesleyan University, many Pioneers did exceptionally well, displaying great individual performances.  Senior Shayla Livingston (Sharon, VT) won the 55 Meter Hurdles (9.11) while first year teammate Christine Dzialo (Belchertown, MA) finished second in the 1 mile run (5:34.88).  Both junior Alison Cloutier (East Hampton, CT) and sophomore Sari Field (Nutley, NJ) did well in the 3000 Meter Run, placing fourth (11:22.95) and fifth (11.25.48), respectively.  First year Etta Grover-Silva (Arcata, CA) won the Pole Vault (3.04) while first year Jasmine Liverpool (Brooklyn, NY) finished third in both the 600 Meter Run (1:46.59) Triple Jump (9.45).  However, the highlight of the day for Smith’s roster came from senior McKane Sharff (Arlington, MA) who provisionally qualified for Nationals with a 55 Meter Dash time of 7.27.

The Pioneers are back in action next Saturday, February 17th as they compete in the New England Championships held at Southern Maine.
