Smith Volleyball Receives ECAC Bid

Northampton, MA: The Pioneers of Smith College have been selected to participate in the 2007 ECAC New England Women's Volleyball championship and have been seeded sixth in the eight team single elimination tournament.

Quarterfinal matches will be played on Wednesday, November 7 at 7 pm with the semifinals on Saturday and championship on Sunday. Smith finished the regular season 17-14 overall and will travel to the third seed Colby-Sawyer College (26-7). Brandeis University received the top seed with a record of 25-10 and will host the eighth seed Plymouth State (10-8).  Seeded second with a record of 21-6, Coast Guard will host 7th seed Western Connecticut State (19-12) while fifth seed Keene State (24-11) visits fourth seed Johnson & Wales (28-11).
