Grover-Silva Sixth in the Country in Pole Vault

Northampton, MA: Sophomore Etta Grover-Silva (Arcata, CA) placed sixth in the pole vault (3.72m/12'2.5") and earned All American honors at the Division III NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The event was won by Holly Robbins of McMurray with a vault of 3.92m/12'10.25".

All American honors capped off an outstanding season for the sophomore athlete. Etta placed second at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship with a vault of 3.25m; finished 5th at the New England III Championships (3.10m); third at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship (3.57m) and took the New England Championship title with a height of 3.75m/12' 3.5". Her mark at the Open New England Championships of 3.75m set a new Smith record as she broke her own record of 3.51m/11' 6.25" established last year.
