Tracksters Take Fifth at Aloha Relays

Northampton, MA: Junior Claire Edwards (Klamath Falls, OR) placed second in the 100m (13.14), third in the long jump (5.10m) and fourth in the 200m (27.35) to help the Pioneers to a fifth place finish at Bowdoin College's Aloha Relays. The host won the meet with 209 points followed by Colby (156), Southern Maine (122.5), Bates (99.5), Smith 61 and Mount Holyoke 26.

Sophomore Etta Grover -Silva (Arcata, CA) won the pole vault at a height of 3.5m and Jasmine Liverpool (Brooklyn, NY) took second in the triple jump (10.23m) and 7th in the long jump (4.67m).  Other top ten performances were given by junior Alina Ainyette (South Orange, NJ) who placed 9th in the 400m (1:04.15); first year Uzuri Sims (San Diego, CA) third in the 400m hurdles (1:11.44) and 7th in the 100m (13.96); Catherine McGuinness (Fairfax, VT) 6th in the discus (28.84m), and tenth in both the javelin (19.75m) and shot put (9.23m).  Shakwana Etienne (West Orange, NJ) finsihed 4th in the shot put (10.85m); Elizabeth Isenstein (Deerfield, MA) 5th in javelin (29.16) whileYelihan Fofana (London, England) placed 9th in the high jump (1.28m).  The 4x100m relay team finished second (51.64) and the 4x400m relay team placed fourth in 4:20.15.
